Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!
I have been trying out one of your sunscreens lately: Vichy Ideal Soleil SPF60 anti-shine dry touch lotion. This is a water-resistant, sweat resistant, chemical sunscreen. It has drometrizole trisiloxane (Mexoryl XL) and avobenzone for UVA, along with homosalate, octocrylene, and octisalate for UVB. This a great combination of filters for broad spectrum protection.
This sunscreen is oil free and free of added fragrance. It is intended for oily skin and has some drying alcohols added. This likely will not go over well if you have dry and/or sensitive skin. It actually feels pretty greasy going on, but does dry down to a matte finish and the greasy feeling fades quickly. There is no cast, but I find that this product does clump up a bit around the nose and jaw line.
Unfortunately, this BURNS around the eyes (at least for me)! My eyelids are not sensitive, but this made them red and very dry. With sweating, it did seep down into my eyes and caused horrific tearing and red eyes.
I prefer your Garnier Sunscreen Ombrelle Ultra-Light Face Cream, SPF 60. While this one leaves a bit of a cast due to titanium dioxide, it does not irritate my eyelids or run into the eyes. It too is oil free and free of added fragrance. Unlike Vichy, there are no drying alcohols. This sunscreen has both Mexoryl XL and Mexoryl SX, along with avobenzone and titanium dioxide for broader UVA coverage. This is a better choice all around imo, particularly for sensitive skin.
