How long should you spend training your biceps in the gym ⁉️

The answer depends on what your goal is. If your goal is solely to have bigger biceps then sure, feel free to carry on 🤠

On the other hand if your goal is gain some lean muscle mass in the most effective way possible then I would suggest to reconsider the exercises you are spending most of your time on ⏳

Scientific research suggests that the most effective exercises to perform in order to increase muscle size and strength are multi-joint exercises (exercises that work more than one muscle group simultaneously). Examples of these are: squats, deadlifts, bench-press, shoulder press, pull-ups, and so on 📊

Logically speaking, if you are able to carry out an exercise that is working a number of major muscle groups In comparison to an isolation exercise like bicep curls that only works one muscle group, we would all agree it would be more efficient to make multi-joint exercises the foundation of your workouts 📌

I figured it was about time I shared a little transformation picture!! It’s been one heck of a journey so far!! I’ve learned so much in even just this year about my body it’s crazy! People always ask how I stay motivated and it’s looking back at old pictures like this! Take all the pictures girl i promise after you start seen the progress it becomes an addiction!

First picture October 2016 the first year I started working out probably 98 lbs. Didn’t have a clue what I was doing haha little after I met @trainwithpayne started working out with him. Stopped working out for a few months and then started again. Basically zero dedication showed up whenever I wanted. Did a lot of drinking, loved beer, ate like garbage, and lots of late nights.

Fast forward to now October 2019 currently 122 lbs so damn HAPPY about that btw!!! Still working on those gains 🍑 and have set a new goal for the next two months!  Working out 5-6 days a week and since the booty is a focus for me I do legs/booty about 3 days a week. Still eating a lot but of the right foods, zero beer, will have a drink once in a while and my Friday nights are spent at the gym 😂

The gym has become my happy place and I love lifting heavy. I am a huge believer that surrounding yourself by the right people is so important! Thank you @trainwithpayne for never letting me quite and my 5am Fit Fam for always pushing me!! Seriously they have seen me grow from the very beginning!❤️

Tempo runs have always scared the 💩 out of me. They’re so painful 😖! I love intervals tho - it’s easy to get thru the tough stuff when you know you have a recovery period coming up before the next hard segment. But only doing what you love doesn’t make you better. It makes you comfortable. Since I’ve shifted my mindset to be more comfortable getting uncomfortable and my body has been working with me rather than against me, I’ve been able to execute workouts that would’ve made me crumble before. Successful 7 mile tempo this morning at half marathon effort, strength session this afternoon, and evening shakeout run for a BIG Tuesday that I would’ve needed lots of naps to accomplish before 🙌🏼

I think it’s important to listen to your body when you’re not feeling well. You can still go to the gym if it feels right but don’t push yourself. Your body needs some extra energy to get better so don’t exhaust yourself too much 💁‍♀️ Do you still hit the gym when you’re feeling a little sick?

Out and about and had to eat! So we got Chick-fil-A and I ordered the Market Salad with JUST chicken and lettuce and I’ve got my Balsamic Vin on the side🤗 also ordered a cup of water! YUM! This was good!.

Guess who’s actually making progress!🤩 Ever since I was hospitalized I’ve just got weaker and weaker. When I started working out again, I was unable to lift weights on legdays. Now that I’ve gotten to know my CRPS a bit better, I’m starting to understand what I can and can’t do. 
I started working out with bodyweight two weeks ago, when I became painfree. Today I used reistance bands and I was still able to walk out of the gym without having to use crutches or my knee brace after the workout, which is a huge progress if you ask me!🙈 It’s slow progress, but It’s still progress.
