Feelings are a way to let us know we are still human. Don’t be afraid to be open and let people know the true you. Open up your heart and mind to others. Look at different perspectives. We are all searching for connections, whether it be for a second, minute, or years. We are all searching for that moment where we feel connected with someone. So step out of your comfort zone and let someone in. Because you never know where that conversation will go.
Also!!!!! Remember to love on someone today. 💕😊 ...
A few days ago, I had coffee with my biggest photography inspiration. After talking, I realized that it was exactly ten years ago that I first discovered his work. I was lying on the floor of my Mom’s house in Kentucky, wondering why I ever moved away from Hawaii and what the hell I was doing with my life. I was building a career based on my college degree, but I felt stuck. Unfulfilled. And then I stumbled onto his website.
Outdoor Adventure Photographer. What did that even mean? After diving deep into a whole new world of possibility, I booked a trip to the Pacific Northwest. My only plan was to wander, take photos, and immerse myself in nature. I felt so alive during that trip, that I gave my two week’s notice the day I came back. But, long story short…my company countered with a position in Italy. So, I set aside the dream.
Eventually, I walked away from that path. And began walking blindly down this one. If you had told me then that I would one day be sharing coffee with my hero @jimmychin talking about living out of a car, sleeping in parking lots and a love for living with less, I wouldn’t have believed you. Life is wild like that, I guess.
I’m beyond grateful for this community, and for all the ways that we come together to lift one another up. Whoever you are and whatever it is you’re working toward, I hope you achieve it. Here’s to chasing dreams, and watching them morph into reality. Kind of like this night at Yosemite. I took this photo at three in the morning, wide awake and dreaming. ...
You taught me the courage of stars before you left
How light carries on endlessly, even after death
With shortness of breath, you explained the infinite
How rare and beautiful it is to even exist #life#roadtrip#sunset#huffpostgram#sleepingatlast ...
