For the last 3 years, I’ve highlighted and tabbed every non-fiction book I’ve read. After spending years reading inspiring books only to do nothing with what I learned, in December 2016 I decided to start reading books in a way that made it easier for me to soak in their wisdom AND apply what I learned.
The photo above is the result of that system! 🤓📚 I don’t necessarily ‘do’ anything with everything I’ve tabbed and highlighted, but it helps me to pay more attention when I’m reading and I love that it’s so easy to revisit books later. And that’s what I did this morning!
I’m playing around with how I structure my days (as always! but will share more on this soon in case it’s helpful, particularly for those of you with businesses) and I needed some journaling prompts. So I got together some of my favourite books and searched the tabs for journaling prompts (I always use the colour green) ✨
How do you make the most of non-fiction books? Let me know in the comments!
And if you’re wanting to know more about how I do it, be sure to check out the Masterclass in Perfectionists Getting Shit Done on how to make the most of personal development books. I share all the nitty gritty details there 😘
And for anyone wondering, the books shown here are: Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, Principles by @raydalio , Tribe of Mentors and Tools of Titans by @timferriss and The Law of Attraction by Jerry and Esther Hicks 🙏🏼

Maintaining your boundaries might upset people. It might cause some disturbances in your relationships. But in the end, not having them is harder...on you. Prioritizing how someone else feels to the detriment of how you feel...is harder. Showing up for everyone else and not for yourself...is harder. Boundaries are uncomfortable at first and require some serious diligence, but then they are freedom. ✨ ...
When you look back at where you’ve been in life, you’ll often find that things change so drastically from one year to the next, it’s hard to believe 365 days always contain the same hours and moments. You can have an entirely different life by this time next year. I know it feels like it will take forever when you are just getting started, but please know, life happens fast, and changes happens faster when you are truly committed to your own inner transformation. ...
