• 60ml/2oz Ableforth's Rumbullion XO
• 30ml/1oz Lime Juice
• 22ml/¾oz Hibiscus Syrup
• 15ml/½oz Homemade Hibiscus Liqueur*
Shake all with crushed ice / Dirty dump / Add extra ice / Garnish with Hibiscus grenade!
During the #CocktailDungeon session last month, Vincent, Bram, Mathias and I 👨👨👦👦 started with a clean-palate sampling session, for which everyone had brought some bottles.🥃 I then served them my 'Jungle Temptress' (posted August, 1) and afterwards it was their turn to go at it!💁 Open bar: whatever style, ingredients, etc... Just have fun!🕺 The results were smashing, with Gin, Rum and Mezcal all finding their way to our glasses (and into our thirsty mouths).
Afterwards, I went back at it.🧙♂️ I took my Rumbullion XO, an orange-, vanilla- and winter-spiced 15-year old(!) Rum as base spirit 😍 and added Lime juice and Hibiscus Syrup. To turn the complexity up, I then added my Homemade Hibiscus Liqueur 🌺 [*Hibiscus Syrup / Jamaican Rum / Allspice Dram / Ginger Bitters], loosely inspired by the recipe in Smuggler's Cove.⚔️ And while serving this beauty, I set them up with the final challenge of the afternoon: the Mystery Gin-Cocktail!✨ But more about that soon, including the results! ❤️ Drinkstagram, have a great day!
